Common RF standards we test for
FCC (Federal Communications Commission)
In the United States, the FCC regulates radio frequency and electromagnetic emissions from devices. The US FCC has listed TÜV SÜD as a Telecommunications Certification Body (TCB), which means that all of our test results are accepted by the FCC, granting our customers access to the US market.
CE (European Conformity)
The EU requires manufacturers of electronic devices that emit radio frequency emissions to comply with certain standards, including the Radio Equipment Directive (RED). TÜV SÜD is an EU Notified Body for CE marking under the RED and is under the IECEE’s CB scheme.
ISED (Innovation, Science & Economic Development Canada)
In Canada, ISED regulates the radio spectrum for all transmitters operated in the country. TÜV SÜD is a Foreign Certification Body (FCB) appointed under the EU – Canada Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA). We can manage the entire certification process on behalf of manufacturers wishing to export to the Canadian market.
Japan MIC certification
Before radio and telecommunication products can be marketed in Japan, the Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) must approve them. TÜV SÜD is the MIC Conformity Assessment Body (CAB) and can support clients across the world with effective Japan MIC certification services.
